The birth of One In A Million was conceived as an initiative of The Driving Kenya Foundation where our numbers can make a difference in helping eradicate poverty in our nation. The idea is for one million of us through dedicated and monthly commitment of Ksh100 or more per month to start to make a difference to the least of of our fellow Kenyans. This project was started in June 2007 and within weeks had over 1000 subscribers registering from all walks of life. However it stalled as a result of the turbulent political climate existing then and also as a result of a computer glitch. We all know 2008 was a year which most of us would not like to remember, with the Kenya election violence and the explosion of a mixture of emotions which surprised us and brought to reality the delicate political situation we had sunk into.
We have decided to revamp the One In A Million website and we call upon the rest of us to join hands in the spirit of Harambee!
